Woman seen on video punching boy, 10, in face at bodega
A woman punched a 10-year-old boy in the face at a Bronx bodega because she didn’t like his manners, police said.
The woman being sought, believed to be between 35 and 45, was with a friend in the store Aug. 19 when she got into an argument with 10-year-old Mohammad Almontsir around 2 p.m., officials said.
One of the women told the kid to say “please” after he asked the store worker for something from behind the counter, a source said.
Video from inside the store on 206th St. shows the unidentified women jawing at the young boy as her friend tries to hold her back. She then walked closer to the boy, holding her fist in front of his face.
Police said the woman then slugged the child, leaving him with a bloody nose.
The boy’s uncle, who works in the store, said Mohammad came in and went behind the counter to get a plastic bag.
“He had so much blood on his face,” the uncle said. “It really doesn’t matter if he was rude to her. He’s just a kid and she doesn’t have the right to touch him.” The kid refused medical attention on the scene, police said.
