Former Jay Z Protégé Tru Life Released From Prison After 6 Years

Tru Life is back home after spending six years in prison.The rapper, real name Robert Rosado, was sentenced in 2011 to eight years for manslaughter. He and his brother Marcus Rosado were involved in a 2009 fight that led to the stabbing death of Christopher Guerrero and the wounding of Jason Gray.

Jay Z signed the Lower East Side, New York native to his now defunct Roc-La-Famila record label in 2005. His biggest song to date is the 9th Wonder-produced gem titled “New York.”

Tru was also involved in an infamous beef with The Diplomats. In 2007 he allegedly punched Cam’Ron in the face outside of a New York City club.
