Stevie J Headed To Jail For Unpaid Child Support
Stevie J is headed to jail, folks. The Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star posted a message to his fans on Thursday evening alerting them of the news, and it seems to be stemming from his $1.1 million child support case. If you recall, Stevie’s ex, Carol Bennett, whom he had two kids with, filed a lawsuit against him in 2013 for unpaid child support. According to court documents, over the course of 14 years he had paid her just $132,220.
In February 2015, the record producer appeared in a New York family court and plead “not guilty” to charges stemming from the owed money. The judge ordered the case go to trial in December. Stevie appeared in court back in May for a hearing, but apparently things didn’t go over so well.
In his IG post, the hit-making producer addressed the case, and said he’ll begin serving his sentence next week.
Not playing no games. No fakes no phonies real niggas only. Shout out to my reals ones locked up. #freefaceoff #freecoreyjacobs #freeloon #freedevaloso #Freelenlo bout to do this time starting next week, sum thing light for this child support case. My kids love me & I love them & that’s all that matters. Period. Fake industry niggas stand clear Danger Zone only! Trust no one. #freescrapdeleon #freeworld
Stevie, who has a total of six children, has remained adamant that he’s not a deadbeat dad, and called the charges bulls–t. “I take great care of my kids,” he said. “I love my children.”
On the bright side, it sounds like Stevie won’t be serving a long sentence. And, we’re sure this will all be documented for the upcoming season of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
