NYC Corrections Employee Busted For Selling Sex On Backpage
Recently, news broke that the government shut down Backpage’s adult section, a website known as “Craigslist for escorts.” In the midst of that, an NYC Department of Corrections worker was arrested for allegedly prostituting on Backpage. Geliesha Smith, a Federal Narcotics Task Force employee who was making $75k a year, was caught after trying to have sex with an undercover cop. Allegedly, she charged $120 for sex in a Days Inn Motel. From there, a sting operation was set up to take down the officer. Once Smith’s price was confirmed to the undercover officer, the police stormed the room and arrested the woman. Smith was immediately suspended, arrested, and released without bail after being arraigned in Brooklyn.
